No Laughing Matter

Did your screen time go up by more than 50% last week?  Mine did!  I spent more time on FB and other sites looking for updates on COVID-19 and welcoming distractions to this unexpected down time.  This is our new normal for a while.   Do you find yourself reading the memes and think they sum up life perfectly?

 

 

 

 

 

 

We are all affected and mourning the changes and loss (going to school, unemployment, graduation, being close to people, etc.)

Growing up in Hawaii our isolation and insolation makes our experience of national and international events, shall we say, different.  Historically Hawaii is not without challenging trials. We know adversity.

1. Measles in Hawaii

2. Toilet paper in the 1970’s

3. UPW strike closes schools

4. False missile alert

Be encouraged for two reasons.  1.  We will persevere.  2.  We have Jesus. 

Last week while under a stay a home mandate, we had a tsunami threat!  Is there anyone who was not reminded of Job?  “Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong!”   He blessed God’s name, he worshiped God, and he did not sin.  Satan must have been angry at Job’s response.  Job suffered unjustly, and yet he did not blame God or say, “why me?”

So here we are.  Praise Jesus!  Try to laugh each day and do your part to battle this current affliction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How are you invigorating your faith and your sense of humor during these challenging days?  And try to keep moving and not eat too much.
