Who's who on the TCS Basketball teams
By Coach Rich

Lions, its basketball season, the rosters are set. Lion’s basketball, like all TCS activities, has many more people involved than just the players and coaches, all working in the background to help create the successful journey. If you’re a basketball fan and would like to help come see me, I’m frequently on the court and we can talk.  Our schedules will come out in the next few weeks with games beginning soon after the first of the year.  Once again the Girls and Boys Varsity games will be played back-to-back on the same nights.  The JV game specifics (teams, locations, days, times, etc.) will be shared as soon as I have something.  Once the word is out I hope the entire TCS Ohana can come see our games and expect to see aggressive spirited basketball. Go Lions!

Volleyball Championship!

November 06, 2017
By Trinity Christian School

Champions!  We have concluded another amazing varsity volleyball season for the Lions. Both the boys and the girls were triumphant in the finals of the AACS championship tournament that took place at Calvary Chapel last weekend. The boys defeated the Calvary Pueo in two straight sets to keep their squeaky clean undefeated record in tact! The girls followed suit by showing Calvary what they were made of.  In a long time rivalry between the two teams and Trinity in the underdog position having lost to the Lady Pueo twice during the regular season, the Lady Lions had their work cut out for them.  They fought hard for every point and pleased the Lions fans with an amazing effort.  They defeated Calvary in two sets, God was in the house!  Congratulations to both teams that worked hard all season to bring home four trophies!  The Lions also had 5 players recognized as a part of the league’s All-Star team: senior, Chad Schuler, and juniors Jesse Makuakane, Noah Leong, Karley Kimitsuka and Elise Gerstenberger.  Well done Lions, what a wonderful finish to an outstanding season!  The coaches and players would like to thank the Trinity parents and fans for their unwavering support throughout the season.  You make coaching so enjoyable and memorable, we love you and appreciate the help, cheering, snacks, and thoughtful gifts.  And most of all, we thank our Lord and Savior for teaching us and growing us through the game of volleyball, thank you Jesus!

Cross Country Update 9/9/17

September 19, 2017
By Trinity Christian School

The Cross Country team ran at the Iolani Invitational at Kualoa Ranch on Saturday, September 9. It was a beautiful day, though quite warm, to be running between the mountains and the ocean. 23 runners competed in either a 2-mile or 3-mile race. Brandon Pluas (12:12, 13th place) and Noah Anderson (12:56) led the intermediate boys to a 12th place team finish. Mikah Hoyman is our only intermediate girl runner. She represented Trinity well by staying strong up the hill and passing many runners in the second half of the race. The high school boys ran very well and stayed together in packs. Not only is that a help to each other, but Greg Tiburcio also encouraged another runner to stick with him for as long as he could. It’s great to see our young runners showing kindness and already grasping what the running culture is all about. Our high school girls team is 10 strong and they all ran hard. For seven out of the ten, it was their first 3-mile race! It is exciting as a coach to see all the runners increasing their endurance!

VICTORY! Secondary School Volleyball Game Sweep 9/15-9/16

September 19, 2017
By Trinity Christian School

Volleyball sweep! The Lions volleyball teams are on a roll, four victories in two days! The action started Friday night at Calvary Chapel gym. The Lady Lions played the ladies of Kaimuki Christian and won easily in two straight sets. The boys followed with an equally swift victory against the KCS boys. On Saturday, the girls played Ko’olau Baptist and took the “W” in two straight sets. The fans were impressed with slamming spikes from Karley Kimitsuka and Breanna Faye and bullet serves from Kaley Nellans and Kelsie Bothof . The girls remain in second place with a record of 3 and 1. The boys game followed. The Lions took a while to settle in and find a way to combat some tough blocking by the Ko’olau boys. Once they found their groove, it was a piece of cake. Oohs and Aahs were common while the Lions ran their aggressive offense. Kills were made by Matthias Aguiar, Jackson Henry, Noah Leong, Chad Schuler, and Jesse Makuakane. Way to go boys! The boys continue to remain in the lead with a record of 4 and 0. Come check the action out this weekend at 6pm Friday and 1pm Saturday at Calvary Chapel gym as the Lions take on Friendship and Kaimuki Christian respectively. Go Lions!

Secondary School Volleyball Games 8/8-8/9

September 12, 2017
By Trinity Christian School

Alright sports fans, the 2017 volleyball season is officially underway.  Both boys and girls teams had their first set of games this past Friday and Saturday at Calvary Chapel gym in Aiea.  The girls action began against their rival Calvary, Friday evening.  With a brand new line up after replacing injured junior and veteran, Elise Gerstenberger, the lady Lions struggled a bit their first match.  They lost in two straight, but close sets.  By the time the second game on Saturday rolled around, the girls were back on top, serving and hitting like champions.  They won their second match easily against Friendship.  The boys swept the entire weekend without even losing a set.  With hard and exciting hitting from veterans Noah Leong, Jesse Makuakane, and Jackson Henry, the crowd went home satisfied and happy for the double win this weekend against Calvary and Friendship.  Don’t miss this upcoming weekend’s incredible volleyball action: Friday 4pm against Kaimuki Christian at Calvary gym and Saturday 5:30 pm at Kaneohe District Park against Ko’olau Baptist.  See you there in your Trinity blue!

TCS Cross Country: 1st Race!

September 08, 2017
By Trinity Christian School

The TCS Cross Country team has grown and is off and running! There are 26 runners from grades 6-12 on the team this fall. We had our first race on Saturday at ‘Iolani school. This 2-mile race starts on the track, heads out and back along the canal for the first mile, and then winds around the campus for the second mile, finishing back on the track. This race is unique in that each grade and gender runs separately. The fields were between 40 and 90 runners. We had four runners finish in under 13 minutes: Brandon Pluas ran a 12:43, Luke Dart ran a 12:47, Noah Anderson ran a 12:48, and Tate Tamaye ran a 12:59. For 9 of our runners it was their first race, so they all set a Person Record (PR)! We are proud of all the runners who raced on Saturday, and we are looking forward to our next race at Kualoa Ranch on September 9.
